The Cake

This post will mainly be pictures. =] For those curious, I made my daughters birthday cake this year (someone twisted my arm about it). Well my daughter asked me to make her one, so how could I say no?! I took my time, and probably put waaay too much frosting, but it was still yummy. My little helper and I started the "cake" earlier this weekend. The following pictures are the process of making the whole cake and decorating it.
If you can't tell, that's the fun fetti cake mix! She picked it out....

We made the buttercream frosting for the whole thing.

Can you guess what it's going to be? =] oh and that's all frosting inside the cones to make them stable on the cake.

that's right...she wanted a castle cake.

I can not believe my little girl turned 4 yrs old.

Here it is..the final piece. yeah..for a first time, not so bad, maybe I'll make her cake next year?!

That cake is so awesome it totally looks like a princess castle. You are so talented to make the cake I would never dare... I have a hard enough time frosting a regular cake. Congrats on a 4 yr old. How fast the grow up.

That cake is incredible. I think I will be borrowing your idea for Ashlee's b-day in January. Happy birthday to your little girl!
