applesauce and a little twirling princess
I would share some pictures, but my camera was left with my sister by accident. Once I get the camera back I will try to add some pictures. i love pictures =]
If you didn't already know, we do not have cable, just local channels. But that's a funny story for another day. I have loved the morning kid shows that they have on PBS. Have you heard of the new PBS show Sid the Science Kid? Really cute, fun to watch, gets kid interested in science, and asking questions. Every episode is a new question, something he wants to know and figure out. Well one of these episodes was on transformation and change. When Sid's in school, the teacher will do an experiment to help answer the question. This episode she (the teacher) showed how heat can change things. They used apples for the experiment. First they tried to make applesauce with just the apples, no heat applied, and it was hard for them to smash the apples when they were still crispy. Then they put the apples in a pan and heated them until they were soft, which made it easier to smash the apples to make applesauce. My daughter thought that was so cool she wanted to try it. And she bugged me for a week until I went to the store and bought some apples to make applesauce. I prepared all the apples, cooked them until they were nice and soft (with cinnamon of course..yum). My daughter and her friend took turns with the masher to make the applesauce. It was a fun experiment, but later she told me that it was too hard to smash the apples. lol. Anyway, I thought it was fun and I love how she's wanting to do these same experiments.
My daughter also had her first ballet class earlier this week. =] This is only an 8 class program at the local middle school for 3-4 yr olds. I just wanted to see if she really was interested, and if she really loved it then we may put her in a longer class. It was so cute to see 11 little girls in leotards, tights and ballet slippers trying really hard to leap and twirl with the teacher. Luckily we signed her up with her friend Lilly and they both helped each other have fun and not be so nervous about the class. At the end it looked like they both had a great time! Hopefully next week's class goes smoothly. My biggest obstacle is to keep my littlest girl away from the class, she just wants to be like her big sister. I even have pictures of her trying to twirl on the floor with a graham cracker in one hand. =]
I also had lunch with my sister and my dad the other day. That was a fun and informative day. I can't believe after 20+ years my dad moved his office! I still have memories of when they moved to the old building. And when my sister and I would go through all the desks in the office..what? we were 5 yrs old! =] Anyway, after lunch I went with my dad to tour the new office and apartment complex. wow. definitely a change, and it looks really nice. They are still in the "moving-in" stage, and after 20 years getting new furniture! The apartment complex is huge and is going to be awesome when it's all done and completed. I used to manage an apartment complex for my dad and I would not want to be the manager with the leasing office steps away from the main office. That would just be too intimidating with a certain boss looking over my shoulder every day. Good luck with that! =]
Did I forget to mention that both my girls have been somewhat sick for almost 2 weeks? so frustrating. I took my littlest one to check on her cough and left with an ear infection. fun huh. That's the first ear infection we've ever had to deal with. I can not wait till they are both healthy with no runny nose or cough.
Those are the highlights of the last week! Hopefully pictures will be up soon, if I can get my camera back (hint hint Amy!!). I'm sooo looking forward to the temperature cooling off this weekend and possibly rain! Have a great weekend.

Sounds like a pretty eventful week. I hate it when the kids are sick.
