Movie Review: Source Code

Source Code

The other night, I met up with my sister and my cousin for a little much needed movie time. Who would have thought that my sister and I would agree on a movie! Guess it helps when Jake Gyllenhaal is the main character. Anyway, the Source Code is supposed to be a sci-fi thriller.  The movie has great special effects, good script, and even good acting. :)

Maybe you remember the trailer?  Gyllenhaal plays an army captain, who awakes to find himself in another mans body, then realizes that he is on a mission to find the bomber who plans to bomb the train on it's way to Chicago.  The Source Code is a government experimental program which allows someone to re-live the last 8 minutes of someones life.  Gyllenhaal takes over the identity of someone from the bombed train in order to solve the puzzle of where the bomb is located, and to discover the identity of the bomber in order to stop a future bomb attack on Chicago.  He goes through the Source Code over and over and over again until his mission is completed.

You would think it ends there....but the movie has some really good twists and surprises.  Oh, but my favorite part of the whole night??? was when my sister called me after the movie and said.."I get it now...an alternate reality."  I could not stop laughing. I love my sister. I think I need to take her to a few more sci-fi movies.   7/10 stars.
