Hot Spinach Artichoke Dip

I had a great dip recipe that I used for my birthday party, but I have no idea where the recipe went. So until I find it, here is another recipe that my husband and I tried over the weekend.  I take no credit. This is from Alton Brown on foodnetwork.com. sooo easy and sooo good.

Hot Spinach Artichoke Dip
  • 1 C thawed, chopped frozen Spinach
  • 1 1/2 C thawed, chopped frozen Artichoke Hearts
  • 6 oz Cream Cheese
  • 1/4 C Sour Cream
  • 1/4 C Mayonnaise
  • 1/3 C grated Parmesan
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
Directions:  Boil spinach and artichokes in 1 C water until tender, and then drain.  Discard liquid. Then heat the cream cheese in the microwave for 1 minute or until hot and soft.  Stir in rest of the ingredients and serve hot.

That's it.

We actually used fresh artichokes (never again..hahaha, such a pain to get to the hearts), and I'm sure you can use all lower fat products to help make it more calorie friendly. We used the baked pita chips...sooo delish!  Just saying...either take it from here, or go on the website. recipe is easy and tastes really good.

Looks delish Em. How did this recipe compare to the dip you served at your party? Loved the one at your party. It tasted like one that a gal used to make and bring to the dentists office. I wish I had that recipe!
