spring or winter?!

I'm not really sure where to begin. Not a lot has happened in the last week or so. I have had a house full of sick coughing people, so I haven't gone out much. Maybe you've had it too? It's a bad cold that lasts over a week!! and contagious. I'm just glad that I'm at the tail end of this cold. I guess their are some things that are worth mentioning that happened this last week. My husband had his 33rd birthday about a week ago. He likes his birthdays "low key" so he did what he wanted that day. I like to call it Jared day. =o) He does NOT like sweets or desserts, so no birthday cake. I did make some raspberry muffins in the morning (oh and he's not a breakfast person either) and a yummy dinner. Other than that he hung out with a couple of his brothers, Jordan, James (who shares the same birthday), and a friend Johnny. He said he had a good birthday. Other fun news. My mom left about a week ago to Costa Rica!! She should be home really soon. She's an amazing lady. adventurous. I emailed to check up on her earlier this week and she emailed me back about what she was doing there. She went zip-lining through the forest, white water rafting, scuba-diving..just about anything you can do there. I'm glad she is able to get out and have fun now and then. Now if only we can find a guy that can keep up with her. =o) Something real quick that is worth mentioning, my dog got a bath!! that's right, my Saydee is clean. I usually give her a bath myself, but decided that this time I'd leave it in the capable hands of the professionals. And they did a GREAT job. I even took a picture so you could see what she looks like now. I can see the white in her hair. =o) Isn't she cute and fluffy clean? and she smells so much better. My girls are wonderful. My oldest princess got a really neat gift in the mail today from her Grandma. She made her a really cute pillow case. My daughter was so excited she switched cases as soon as she saw it. My daughter has also LOVED this spring weather the last few days. She has been out on her bike every day and playing with the neighbor kids. That's one thing I'm really looking forward to once the weather decides to stay warm--the neighbors come out from hibernating. =o) In our little circle, on a nice night, everyone comes out to talk. Whoever gets out first is the house we usually all meet at with our different lawn chairs. Speaking of neighbors, for those that know me, you've probably heard me talk about our next door neighbor Jim. He may not be directly related, but he is family. Sadly, he is taking a new job in Houston and will be gone in about a month. He's happy about the move (and he'll only be 2 hrs away from his mom), but he's been in Utah for almost 20 years so it's bitter-sweet. Sorry, side tracked.. my girls. I've decided to nickname my baby-- monkey. =o) She is all over the place. I took a picture to share with you how she greets me every time she's ready to get out of the crib (since she can no longer jump out). =o) She's always standing there waiting for me, cooing. I love it. When she's out of the crib she wants to crawl or practice standing. If you look closely there's a bruise on her sweet little forehead. Like I said she loves to pull herself up and stand, but then she also falls and bumps her head. So sad when she cries, but she's learning how to be an independent mover. I need to get a video to show you how FAST she is at crawling. We've already started a game where she thinks I'm chasing her and she starts laughing and takes off down the hall. In other great baby news a really good friend of mine, Heather Marie, had her baby earlier this week! I'm so happy for her and her family. She has 2 boys and now a darling little girl named Allison. I can't wait to see pictures or even come see her (of course when I'm no longer sick). =o) Congrats Heather!! love you! Today was a lot of fun. My sister and I don't get out very much without the kids...ok practically never. Well, today we were able to leave the kids with our husbands and meet up for a movie! I LOVE going to the movies. It's a lot harder to go see a movie when you have young kids. I usually have to wait till it comes out on video before I can see anything. I have a long list of movies I would love to see. Today, Amy and I met half way at a theatre in Sandy and went to see Penelope, with Christina Ricci, and James McAvoy. I thought it was an adorable movie. This was definitely one of the top movies on my list to see, but in all honesty, it was because of James McAvoy. You may think I'm silly to go see a movie because of who's starring in it, but it was worth it! =o) I honestly didn't take notice of this guy until I saw Becoming Jane. Then when I looked in his history he's been in a few more movies that I recognize, like he was the faun in Narnia, the brother in Wimbeldon, and he was also in Atonement opposite Keira Knightley. Anyway, just a great actor that I'll be keeping an eye on. =o) Other than that the weather was great before we went into the theatre, like 58 degrees, the when we left the theatre it was pouring rain. The roads were awful, lights were out and by the time I made it home it was a snow blizzard. I love getting together with my sister, but the snow was crazy. When will the weather make up its mind? spring or winter? I'm ready for spring!
