Movie Review: Kung Fu Panda 2

Kung Fu Panda 2
I loved loved loved the first Kung Fu Panda, so it didn't take much convincing to take my girls this morning for a matinee!  Kids will love the movie.  I thought it was good, visually pleasing, and the story...predictable, but I was totally ok with that for the movie.

Kung Fu Panda 2 starts off where the other left off, Po--the dragon warrior, and the furious 5 are keeping the valley safe.  The villain is a pampered white peacock prince that discovers the deadly side of fireworks and now wants china to fear him. The movie is full of flashbacks for back stories.  The most important? where did Po come from? That thread of the story is actually really sweet, and it was fun to see him as a baby panda bear.  There is a scene where Po confronts his dad, the goose, and asks 'where did I come from'. lol.  Finally tells him that he was adopted, and Po sets out to save China again, while finding his inner peace and his true beginnings.  You meet a few new kung fu warriors along the way..

small insignificant spoiler...at the end it opened to a possible 3rd movie! yep...totally excited already.  The 1st movie is still my favorite, but for sequel, the movie was just what I expected.

6.5/10 stars
