Bountiful Baskets. This is a co-op, volunteer run, no contracts, no profit, share with everyone deal. They buy mostly seasonal fruits/veggies at a huge discount, and then distributes evenly with everyone that contributes. This morning was my test run to see if I could save some money on my produce. I paid $15, and the below picture is what you see. What do you think??
Here's how it works. You make a money contribution ($15 for just the one basket..you can add on other things like an additional basket, breads, herbs, they have options) between Monday at noon Mountain Time and Tuesday at 10:00 pm. They pool all the money, then spend it all where the grocery stores shop. The volunteers show up an hour before pickup the next Saturday to help divide up the produce, then at your designated time, show up and take home your produce! You do have to bring your own bags to take them home. I used 2 reusable bags, but most brought laundry baskets. Now the trick is putting it all away..guess I'll be cleaning out my fridge today. lol.
I'm looking forward to this. Gives me an opportunity to try fruits and vegetables I wouldn't normally buy at the store (my husband will be grateful). Now you know about bountiful baskets. If you're interested in trying it out, check the website for the pick ups near your area. The pick up closest to me was full by the time I signed up last Monday, but there was another one not too far away that worked perfectly.
**they also have a facebook page if you want to check them out there!

Ok. I really was going to check this out. :) My mind has been so preoccupied with other things! Thanks for letting me cry literally on your shoulder today! I have been trying to be strong and hold it all in for too long and today was my day for it to all come to a point. I so want to do this bountiful basket thing. What a great deal! And those were apricots. We would make apricot jam each year in the summer. Maybe we should make some soon! :)
I am so glad you liked it! I still need to try it! I will have to remember on Monday!
