Book Review: The Red Pyramid

The Red Pyramid (Kane Chronicles, #1)The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the same author that wrote the Percy Jackson series, which I love, so I was excited when it was my turn to read the book. The Red Pyramid was very entertaining, and I enjoyed reading about Egyptian Mythology. Honestly I stil think that Percy Jackson is a better series, but this one is still fun to read and I'm looking forward to what happens next.

The book is basically about a brother and a sister who are practically strangers being raised apart. Sadie grew up in London with her grandparents, and Carter traveling the world with his dad who is an egyptologist. Twice a year they see eachother and on one of those nights, something went really wrong at the museum. Their dad released some powerful gods, and the God Set has captured their dad, leaving them together on a crazy adventure around the globe with a cat for company.

They are thrown into a world they did not know existed...the egyptian gods are real, they find out their family has a strong history that goes back to the pharaohs, and they must somehow figure out how to stop the god Set before he releases more chaos on the world...while trying to save their dad.
