toothless. and frigid weather.

Just one of my rambling posts. :)

So far January has been...lets see...in 3 words: frigid, toothless, and hopeful.  Not sure about your family, but mine has been sick for the last few weeks. Luckily most of that sickness is just an annoying hack-your-lung-up-cough, could have been worse.  I think I'm the last one in the family to slowly get over this annoying cough.
Remember just a few days ago? the SCHMOG (my word for smog/fog mix) we had in the valley? Visibility was doable driving, but not fun, and the roads were very slippery.  I took a couple of pictures of the trees near the library.  Even though the weather is frickin freezing, with the fog blanket on the valley, it made for some really pretty pictures of the trees and leaves.  Everything was frosted over.
My big girls tooth finally came out. This crazy tooth has been loose since early December. For the last few weeks I was only allowed to wiggle...no pulling, she wanted the tooth to come out on its own.  I finally convinced her that I was just going to "jiggle" the tooth and see what happens. wahahaha. She didn't even notice that it came out. mom wins again. oh yeah. now look how happy she is..
Nothing much else to report...I haven't seen any new movies, I'm having a hard time reading the 2 current books from the library (White Out, by Follet and Clockwork Angel, by Clare).  Maybe I haven't given these books enough time, need to give them another chance before I return them to the library. Have any of you read either of these books? just having a hard time getting past the first few chapters.

Oh! I'm picking up a new cookbook tomorrow, something about picky eaters, and hiding vegetables in kid friendly food. My girls will not touch vegetables, or even touch something if it has a little green on it. This cookbook supposed to have a lot of recipes where they blend/puree the vegetables and hide them in food they will normally eat. At this point I'm willing to try anything.

wish me luck. ;)
