Trip Highlights/cliff notes version

Sisters Getaway weekend!

Over the weekend, my twin and I flew to Seattle/Tacoma to visit our older (and much wiser) sister for her birthday weekend. We haven't had a sisters trip in a looong time.  Here are a few pictures, my sister and I have posted many on facebook if you really want to see more. ;)
The first day we spent in Seattle! my twin had never been on the top of the space needle..so that was our main goal. When we finally reached the top it was soooo very windy and rainy. We spent the rest of the day walking..and walking the streets in the rain, looking at different shops, toy stores, pikes market....
We love Pikes Market. The produce is beautiful...BIG, colorful, and you want to buy it all, the flowers this season still gorgeous, the guys still throw fish, and the shops still fun to look around.  I found an amazing lady that makes custom named jewelry right there at the market. I had to make something for my girls since their names are not that common.  After, we went to one of the best chocolate places--the Chocolate Box. The flavored marshmallows were soo good in my hot chocolate--which was perfect on a really rainy day.
Later that night we met up with our sister downtown to have dinner and then to see the Picasso exhibit at the Seattle Art Museum. It was the last weekend, and totally sold out. I may do another post just on this exhibit. I was only familiar with his cubism pieces, and couldn't believe the variety and styles of his other paintings! Definitely an eye opener. May have to expand on that later
the parliament building in Victoria, Canada.
The next morning we headed to Port Angeles to catch the Ferry across the Juan de Fuca Strait to Victoria, Canada. Still raining. By the time we got into town, it was getting late. We found our awesome hotel--the Oswego, then walked around Victoria. Definitely a touristy town, lots of shops, and later we found a delicious Italian place for dinner...Fiamos. The next day we found our new sister hats, bought a few souvenirs, checked out a tea shop--never seen such a variety in flavors, and just enjoyed Victoria! That night we caught the Ferry back to Washington, and after almost getting lost in the fog, saw a movie on the way back to Tacoma.

That morning, we headed back to Seattle! my sister and I had never been on the underground tour. Fascinating history on the start of Seattle and Pioneer Square. After the great Seattle fire of 1889, they chose to raise the street level one story higher, and in doing so created this labyrinth of tunnels under Pioneer square. fun tour if you're ever in the area. After some more walking, errands, yummy foods, we were off to the airport. When we arrived, we found out that our flight was going to be delayed over an hour and a half, spent almost 3 hours there until our flight took off. Made it back home safe and sound, just trying to get back into mommy mode. taking longer than I would have liked...such a great trip and a nice break!
